Facebook Updates Pages Manager iPhone App: Message Capabilities and Notification Adjustments

Facebook has updated the Facebook Pages Manager iPhone application to include some well-desired changes. Among these changes are:

View and Reply to Messages

Facebook Pages Manager Update Messages

A major oversight in their last app, Facebook had not included the feature of viewing and replying to business page messages in the first version of the app. Now you can see, respond and get push notifications for all messages on pages you admin. The Messages feature is conveniently placed in the hidden drop down menu with a notification icon at the top of the screen while you are browsing the page itself.

Adjust the Frequency of Notifications

Although this new feature isn’t all I’d like to be, it’s a start. Now you can turn off push notifications for all pages until tomorrow 8:00 AM. Previously you were only able to turn off the notifications of each page altogether with no option for them to be turned on automatically, so  if you want to turn them all off permanently, you would have to go to each page individually to change this.

View Answers to Questions and Guest Lists for Page Events

Event planning businesses with pages should benefit significantly from this feature. Now you can see who’s RSVPing to the events created by the page. (I haven’t fully explored this feature just yet.)

Other improvements include viewing insights for checkins and the regular bug fixes and performance updates that typically come with updates.

I’m personally looking forward to being able to see my scheduled posts through the iPhone app and for it to be available outside of the US Apple store.

Did you find any other hidden features we haven’t covered here? Are these updates satisfactory for you or were you looking for something different. Will these changes affect your usage of the app in anyway? Share your thoughts and opinions in the comments below.
